ZAUNERGROUP has been appointed as a specialist general contractor for key fit-out works at Google’s first data centre campus in Austria. Our role is to deliver the agreed scope efficiently, reliably and in full compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements and approvals.The scale of our involvement makes this one of the largest contracts in the company’s history – and another important milestone in our long-standing relationship with Google. This major project further strengthens our position as a leading provider of mission-critical infrastructure.

Our Group Managing Director Andreas Beck is particularly proud of this milestone: “Over the past few years, we have built up extensive experience in delivering complex data centre projects. Having the opportunity to apply this expertise with our teams on a project of this scale, so close to our headquarters, makes it particularly significant for us.”A key part of our delivery approach is a high degree of prefabrication. Numerous components and modules are being pre-assembled at our facility in Wallern an der Trattnach before being transported to site. This reduces the amount of work required on site, provides greater certainty in project execution and enables consistently high quality under controlled conditions. At the same time, a substantial share of the value creation remains within the region.  For Upper Austria, the development is one of the largest private investment projects of recent years and provides an important boost to Austria’s position as a business and technology hub. “Digitalisation and modern industry depend on the right infrastructure. The new data centre campus in Kronstorf will make an important contribution in this respect.
