Project Scheduler Data Center

Willingness to travel to construction sites within the DACH region Full-time | Vienna

Job profile

Intro
ZAUNERGROUP is one of Europe's leading specialists in industrial plant engineering and the delivery of highly complex data center projects. As part of our continued growth, we are looking for a Project Scheduler to join our Data Center Vienna team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and controlling the integrated project schedule for large-scale data center projects. You will ensure that complex construction and installation activities are planned, monitored, and executed efficiently, enabling projects to be delivered on time and in line with contractual requirements. Working closely with on-site project teams, engineering, construction management, and project leadership, you will provide transparency on project progress, identify scheduling risks at an early stage, and support informed decision-making throughout the project lifecycle. Your expertise will play a key role in achieving project milestones, mitigating schedule-related risks, and contributing to the successful delivery of our projects.
Responsibilities
  • Develop, maintain, and continuously optimize the integrated project schedule for data center projects using Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project.
  • Monitor project progress on an ongoing basis, including planned vs. actual schedule analysis, milestone tracking, and weekly progress assessments.
  • Identify critical paths, schedule risks, and contractual constraints at an early stage to enable timely escalation and effective risk mitigation.
  • Prepare and maintain project schedule and progress reports, including S-curves, dashboards, and decision-support information for project management.
  • Support project teams with production and resource planning, particularly when addressing deviations between planned and actual progress.
  • Collaborate closely with Engineering, Construction Management, Site Engineers, subcontractors, and the on-site project management team.
  • Lead and coordinate schedule-related meetings and alignments with internal and external stakeholders, while serving as a key point of contact for schedule-related communication with the client.
  • Act as the first point of escalation for schedule-related issues on site and ensure compliance with project-specific client scheduling standards and requirements.
Qualifications
  • Several years of experience in project scheduling and schedule management for large-scale construction, industrial, or plant engineering projects.
  • Proven experience working on construction site projects, with strong proficiency in Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project.
  • Experience working with OneDrive, SharePoint, and modern cloud-based collaboration solutions.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Demonstrated experience in scheduling and controlling complex technical or industrial projects.
  • Strong organizational skills, with a structured, detail-oriented, and analytical approach to work.
  • High level of initiative and the ability to work independently in a dynamic project and construction site environment.
  • Excellent written and spoken German and English language skills.
  • Experience in the data center industry is an advantage.
  • Valid Category B driver's license and willingness to travel within the DACH region.
