Intro
In this role, you will act as the central HR point of contact on a construction site in Upper Austria and serve as the local interface and operational extension of the HR teams in Austria and the UK. Your focus will be on providing operational HR support to employees as well as coordinating with UK Finance and the external Austrian payroll service provider. This position offers a unique opportunity to actively contribute to a large-scale international project, gain valuable insights into international HR structures, and become part of a cross-border team.
Responsibilities
  • Handling all HR-related matters as the primary on-site contact for (international) employees working on the project and construction site in Upper Austria
  • Managing day-to-day HR inquiries and maintaining and administering employee data in compliance with GDPR requirements
  • Supporting working time, absence, and leave management in line with legal and internal regulations
  • Acting as the local interface to the UK HR team and operational representative for HR topics in Austria
  • Coordinating and supporting all payroll-related matters, including the collection, review, and validation of data, handling inquiries, and coordinating documentation in cooperation with the external payroll provider and UK Finance – without overall responsibility for payroll processing
  • Coordinating compliance, authority-related, and immigration topics, as well as proactively identifying and reporting potential risks
Qualifications
  • Several years of experience in a generalist HR role
  • Practical experience working with external payroll service providers and internal finance teams
  • Basic knowledge of Austrian payroll, tax, and social security law, as well as the Austrian Act on the Employment of Foreign Nationals
  • Very good German and English skills, both written and spoken (mandatory)
  • High level of accuracy, a structured working style, and strong organizational and communication skills
  • Experience in international or project-based working environments is an advantage
  • Strong solution-oriented mindset and enjoyment of direct interaction with employees from diverse cultural backgrounds

Compensation

Minimum collective salary
2.918,34 €

3.300,00 €

4.500,00 €
We would like to point out that the collective agreement minimum salary under the attractive metal craft collective agreement is EUR 2.918,34 gross per month. The actual salary will be within a range of EUR 3.300 to EUR 4.500 gross per month and will be determined together with you based on your qualifications and professional experience.
